VIPASSANA
Vipassana , which means to see things as they really are, is one of
India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was taught in India
more than 2500 years ago as a universal remedy for universal ills,
i.e.,an Art of Living. The technique of Vipassana Meditation is a ten-day residential
course in which participants learn the basics of the method, and
practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results.
A meditation session by MITRA - Mind in Training for Awareness was
organized by Education department (BMC) for the BMC and private
aided teachers. This offline session was conducted at different venues
as per the ward. The teachers attended this session in the timeslot
given to them. It was a very calming, soothing experience. A Vipassana
pamplet and circular was given. The circular states that with the
permission of the school management, a teacher can avail Vipassana
training with paid leave and free of cost.
At the end of the session,a feedback form was given to share our
experiences. The session ended with the serving of breakfast to all the
participants.
