An exhibition for the same was organised in the kindergarten section with the theme "Trash To Treasure". This event was inaugurated by Mr. Ramnarayan (Hon. Secretary, SIES) and attended by Mr.Venkat Ramani (Hon. Joint Secretary, SIES), Mr.Devdas Nair (Hon. Treasurer, SIES) and Dr. Vidhya Satish (Director, SIES ICE). All the teaching aids were made by teachers from waste materials like plastic bottles, bottle covers, unused cardboards, pebbles etc. Teaching aids included picture book, sensory development aids, etc. The activity room includes picture book library, blank boards for free writing and a paint area. These teaching aids are sure to make teaching and learning a lot more fun. Motor skills development, active learning and a holistic development of the students is the sole objective. The main aim of this event was to showcase how NEP Curriculum frame work helps teachers to observe students as per their age and stage of development. Board games and activities helps students to enhance and develop seven skills in children. Children with different learning styles the observer, the listener and the mover can develop a strong foundation through such activities.
LIFE SKILL DEVELOPMENT - TABLE ETIQUETTEView Photo
A session on Table Etiquette was conducted to impart important tools for social interaction, to have more control over their movements and behaviour, gain more skills and develop greater social awareness at home and at public places. Knowing these manners would help students for the rest of their life. The etiquette programme started by taking the blessings of God. A short information was given about table manners by the teacher which was followed by a pre-recorded video of Table Manners at public places and social gatherings with the right placing of cutlery, use of it and the proper way of eating the starters, the main course and desserts. Lastly a live session along with the children was started by washing their hands, saying prayer and slowly having their lunch, chewing it properly and not allowing to drink water in between and not waste their food. Children were made to clean their mess and pick up their plate and put it in the sink. The main aim to conduct this event was to have more control over their movement and behaviour. The event ended by expressing thanks to parents for their active participation in helping their kids to join this event and making it a grand success. The programme was brought to an end with the National Anthem.

Republic Day is celebrated with great pomp and fervor across the country. We at SIES (Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial) Kindergarten also celebrated the 73rd Republic Day virtually with great enthusiasm. As a prelude to the celebration a Tricolor Competition was held with an aim to inculcate respect for the country and its diversity, in our little champs. The competition was held in two parts. One was for the kindergarten parents i.e., Tricolor Cooking Competition and the other was for our little kiddos i.e., Best Out of Waste Tricolor Competition. Mothers of our little kids actively participated in the competition and presented a variety of delicacies like idli, dosa, dhokla, cake, ice-cream, etc. and also briefed about their nutritional value, therefore making it a very productive competition. The tiny tots also took part very enthusiastically in their creative task i.e., making the best out of waste, apart from their academic activities. Some of the items made by the little students were wall hangings, decorative items, photo frames and many other things. It provided a great platform for the students as well as for the moms to showcase their hidden talent and creativity. The participants mesmerized everyone with their artistic presentation. These competitions were followed by a virtual celebration. The students were all dressed up in white or tricolored outfits for the occasion. The programme started with the blessings of the almighty. The students were told the importance of Republic Day through a PowerPoint presentation. They were also shown a video of the Parade done by our own school children. To encourage our tiny tots and their moms, their talent was displayed. We concluded the event with the hoisting of our National Flag by our Kindergarten Head Mrs. Anam Kazi.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONView Photo
Independence Day was celebrated on 13/8/2021 to inculcate value of nationalism and patriotism in our students. The celebration began with the prayer followed by a pre-recorded video of a speech delivered by Ayat Shabbir Khan of Senior KG D, a pre-recorded video of the Nursery children dressed up as Patriotic Leaders and then a pre-recorded video of patriotic songs and dance performed by the Junior KG and Senior KG kids. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.

The celebration of the festival of Rakshabandhan began by taking the blessings of the almighty. The students were given information on the importance of celebrating the festival. Which was followed by a short video of the story of Lord Vishnu who gave Lord Indra's wife a thread to tie on Lord Indra's right wrist to protect him. An activity of Rakhi making was conducted in which all the kids took part enthusiastically and enjoyed a lot. The event ended with Vote of Thanks and with the beat of National Anthem.

The celebration began with the welcoming of the parents and students. Valuable information was given by Deepa teacher which was followed by the prayer and a short video was shown of the birth of Lord Krishna. Pooja of Lord Krishna was performed live. A live pre-recorded video of Dahi Handi was shown to the kids, which was followed by the activity of decorating Dahi Handi and making the crown of Lord Krishna which the kids enjoyed a lot. This event was surmised by Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.

The celebration began by taking the blessings of our almighty Lord Ganesha. It was followed by a video which displayed the story of the birth of Lord Ganesh, pre-recorded video of procession of bringing Lord Ganesh, doing rituals and singing songs of Lord Ganesh. A live pre-recorded video of the immersion of Lord Ganesh was followed by an activity of making chocolate modak using oreo biscuits. Children relished the modaks. The event came to an end by expressing our thanks for the active participation by the parents for helping their kids for the activity followed by National Anthem.

This virtual celebration started with great pomp taking the blessings of the almighty followed by a short introduction, a pre-recorded video on the birth of Lord Jesus. Live Christmas decorations was shown to the students which was done by teachers. This was followed by an activity of x-mas tree making and making of Oreo biscuit cake. Then Santa Claus was welcomed. There was a dance by children and the teachers with Santa Claus to the beat of the music. Though virtually celebrated, children enjoyed a lot. The event was summed up with a Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.
MAKAR SANKRANTI CELEBRATIONView Photo
This festival was celebrated on 13th January, 2022. People worship the Sun God to mark the first day of Sun's transit. This festival was celebrated by showing a presentation to the students of how it is celebrated in different states with different names. An activity was conducted of making date laddoos and decorating the kite with colorful rangoli powder. Children enjoyed both these activities. This festival celebration ended with the Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.
NISHTHA TRAINING
Nishtha is a capacity building programme for improving quality of school education through integrated teacher training. Nishtha is the world's largest teachers training programme . It started in December 2021. All the modules of Nishtha training which were specially designed for primary teachers. All school teachers attended the training through Diksha app. All the teachers downloaded the certificates of completed modules took printouts and filed it in the file. Whatever was learnt in the training module, we started implementing in the actual classroom teaching. It showed immense effect in teaching learning process.
ONLINE SCHOOL ON MS TEAMS APP & OFFLINE SCHOOL
Since the beginning of the academic year June 2021 lectures were scheduled in MS Teams. Teachers forwarded the link to their groups in advance. Different timings were allotted as per the standards. 2 to 3 p.m for standard First & Second. 3 p.m to 4.30 p.m for standard Third and Fourth. PPTs were shown for most of the lessons. Notes were sent in the form of PDFs. Offline school started from 15th December 2021 Different time slots were given for Boys and Girls. Boys were called from 1 p.m to 3 p.m & Girls from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. Due to Omicron cases, all the teaching fraternity was asked to continue Online education in MS Teams from 4th January 2022to 22nd January 2022. Again from 24th January offline school started. The students and teachers were able to interact with each other. Due to chalk and talk method, children were showing interest and were participating in the school activities. We were able to conduct sports and other Intra school competitions. The second unit test was conducted offline.
TEXTBOOKS DISTRIBUTIONView Photo
Every year under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan textbooks were given by BMC to all the children studying in the BMC and aided schools. This year on 13th August 2021 textbooks were distributed .The peons of our school helped us in distributing the books. Signatures were taken from the parents when they came to school for collecting the textbooks.
PULSES AND RICE (MID-DAY-MEAL)
As part of mid-day-meal students were given rice and pulses by the government. On 25th August 2021 rice was distributed and on 12th March 2022 chana and tur dal was distributed. Teachers took signature of the parents. The peons distributed it. Message had been forwarded to bring appropriate bags that could hold the capacity of rice and pulses. The parents who did not turn up for the first time were called later. The MDM committee members were called to sign in the muster that is maintained in the school record.

The day Adiyogi Shiva imparted yogic knowledge to saptarishis, the day Sage Ved Vyas started composing epic - Mahabharat and the day Buddha delivered his first sermon after his enlightenment is celebrated as Guru Purnima. The Secondary Section of SIES (Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial) High School, Ghatkopar celebrated the occasion online with great fervour and reverence on 23rd July, 2021. Students were appraised of the significance of the day through a video. Students from each class explained the importance of the day and wished their teachers heartily - expressing their gratitude with their magnificent artistic talent.

Marathi Raj Bhasha Din was celebrated on 26th February in our school with a variety of informative and entertaining programmes organized by our school teachers
THEME : INTEGRATED APPROACH IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE The programme began with the chanting of the Mahamritunjaya mantra and a prayer song "Jaya Jaya Shankara, Namo Namo Shankara..."accompanied by a student guitarist Master Parth More which further continued by chanting of "OM" by the students to bring in the positive aura of these Maha Mantras of the Vedas which is totally associated with science of our human wellbeing . Each of the heads of the institution were felicitated with a Tulsi sapling. The programme then further progressed with an english song on science by our student, Ms. Mihika Jagtap. A video clipping on biography of the renowned Great Indian Scientist, Mr. Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, was also shown. Thereafter, a list of activities were put forth by students using materials which are easy to handle and easily available at home. Mrs. Pushpa Krishnakumar, the Asst.headmistress of SIES (Dr APJ ABDUL KALAM MEMORIAL )HIGH SCHOOL who is also an enthusiastic science teacher, elaborated on the theme of the day. Mrs. Nalini Senthil, a passionate science teacher demonstrated an experiment on the Principle of Suspension using two different flours commonly used in our Indian kitchen. Thus, proving that science is not bound to a specific place or time - it is omnipresent and is everywhere. She inspired the students to keep up the spirit of science and encouraged the students to participate and perform different experiments. A small session on 'Laughing Therapy and Acupressure' was conducted by students of standard 9 - (Mast. Prasad Tawde, Mast. Soham Gomale).
Last but not the least, came the inspiring words from the Headmaster of the institution, "Learning science does not take place in the lab alone but it is found in and around our day to day activities which requires an eye to observe". He thanked all the members of the Science faculty for organizing a remarkable event. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Arpita Singh. The programme was well hosted by Alina Khan of X C.

Rangoli is an art form, originating in the Indian subcontinent, in which patterns are created on the floor or on a tabletop using materials such as powdered lime stone, red ochre, dry rice flour, coloured sand, quartz powder, flower petals, and coloured rocks. SIES (Dr. APJ ABDUL KALAM MEMORIAL) High School, Ghatkopar (w), organizes this rangoli portrait of famous personalities for all occasions held in the school premises.

The 7th International yoga day was celebrated on 21st June 2021 with great enthusiasm in our school. Yoga day is celebrated to bring peace, harmony, happiness and success to every soul in the world. Yoga is a mental, physical and spiritual practice, that needs to be carried out every day. Practise of Yoga enables children to have good co-ordination between mind and body. This function was held in the school auditorium for std V-X, The teachers and the students of std V to X performed Yoga in the school auditorium between 7:30am to 12:20am in different batches. Our school Principal invited RAJ YOGA (Bramha Kumariji) who also taught special yoga techniques to our children. Mass yoga demonstration was organised. Students were taught various aasanas and warming up exercises.

A Webinar on Cyber crime was conducted by Mdm. Nandhini Menon, Advocate of SIES Management on 25th September 2021.
DIWALI BASHUP [TEACHERS]
Diwali bash was organized for the teaching fraternity by the staff on 30th October 2021. The programme was planned and executed by the secondary teachers for the secondary teaching staff. Various games like treasure hunt, musical chair, lighting of the lamps, secret Santa, fashion show and dances were set up. It was truly an entertaining break for the teachers.
A WEBINAR ON CAREER GUIDANCE
SIES institute of Comprehensive Education had organized a webinar on Career guidance for students of std 10th on 13th February 2022.
A Farewell was given to the students of std X on 7th March 2022. The programme was organised by the 9th std students and teachers with various cultural programmes for the entertainment of the students.

A Career Guidance Seminar by Prof. VIJAY SHUKLA M.TECH. (IIT Mumbai) AIR 13 was organized on 9th April, 2022 for the students who had appeared the SSC Board exam in March 2022. The seminar was arranged in different batches, for both boys and girls separately, along with their parents. It gave an insight to the various career options available for their further studies.
